Zine City Fest: A Weekend of Art and Community
This past weekend, Lucky 24 had the incredible opportunity to attend Nashville's second-ever Zine City Fest, and we couldn’t be more excited to share the experience! It was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community that perfectly aligns with what we stand for at Lucky 24.
### What Is Zine City Fest?
For those unfamiliar, Zine City Fest is an annual event put on by Free Nashville Poetry Library, dedicated to zine culture—an indie art movement that promotes self-expression through small, handmade publications. Creators from all over Nashville and beyond come together to share their zines, art, and stories in a celebration of DIY culture. It’s a place where artists, writers, and creators of all backgrounds can connect, share their work, and get inspired by each other.
### Lucky 24 at the Fest
This year marked our first time attending Zine City Fest, and we were so excited to be included! Each of our tattoo artists brought their own spin to the event, offering a unique perspective that blends the world of tattoos with zine culture. They contributed their own zines, featuring personal artwork, flash designs, and stories that offered a glimpse into their creative processes. These mini-zines allowed y’all to get a deeper look into the minds behind the tattoos.

### Connecting with the Nashville Art Scene
Attending Zine City Fest gave us the chance to engage with Nashville's thriving indie art scene. We loved meeting so many creative people—whether they were artists, writers, or fans of the DIY movement. We also got to swap zines with other local creators and explore new avenues of artistic inspiration. It’s always refreshing to be around like-minded people who share a love for art in all its forms.
### Why Zine Culture and Tattoos Go Hand in Hand
Zines and tattoos might seem like two different worlds, but they share a common ethos: self-expression. Just like tattoos, zines are personal, creative, and a way to tell a story. Both art forms embrace individuality and allow artists and collectors to forge deep, meaningful connections with the work they love. We’re proud to be part of both communities and can’t wait to keep blending these two artistic mediums in the future.
